The term graphic design can refer to a number of artistic and professional disciplines which focus on visual communication and presentation. Graphic design simply put, is the art and practice of planning, projecting ideas, and experiences with visual and textual content. The form of graphic design communication can be physical or virtual, and may include images, words, or merged image forms. Graphic design can be any scale, from the design of a single postage stamp to a company billboard advertisement. There are important technical terms called vector, and raster graphics which image quality pertains directly to visual mediums and sizes. Graphic Design can also be for any purpose, whether commercial, educational, cultural, or political. Good graphic designers know color theory, design principals, and have fundamental knowledge of web design, printing industries, social media branding, and image editing software to execute their craft.

Vector graphics are images usually created in Adobe Illustrator which can be enlarged to any size without becoming pixelated or losing image quality. Vector graphics are the images used by designers to make designs for large billboard signs, company logos on buildings, and other large advertisements. Raster graphics are usually created in Adobe Photoshop. Raster graphics are used to be placed on web pages, social media, and other "RGB" electronic platforms because they load faster and are not necessarily required to be large in scale. Pixels look like staircases of squares when enlarged. This is what you see when you enlarge a raster graphic as opposed to a vector graphic. We at DinoRiese.com truly hope this clears it up a little, so you to understand a more about graphic design.
